Last Ounce of Courage

B&H Rating:

Best movie my husband and I have watched in a long time. We need more shows as powerful as this one. The message is clear and stirringly true. Our freedoms are being taken away from us and we need to not be afraid to stand up for them, even fight for them. Be sure to watch until the end, including the closing song over the credits. Currently it's available on Netflix.

The Land Before Time Movies

B&H Rating:

Our kids love all these movies and we've watched them many times. They are clean and exciting. Maybe a little scary in parts for really small children, but our kids really love them.

Christmas Story

B&H Rating:

This is a great movie about Christmas. It tells the story of how St. Nick came to be. What I love most about this movie is that whether or not the story is true, it helps us see that the Santa Claus figure is a figure of giving, a figure of love, which is truly the spirit of the season. Santa Claus isn't just a material and commercial part of Christmas. He is a gift giver, completely selfless, giving of himself and a great example to all of us.

17 Miracles

B&H Rating:

I loved this movie and would recommend it to you without reservation. It deals with the hardships that the Mormon pioneer handcart companies faced as they crossed the plains to the Salt Lake valley. It illustrates their faith and the miracles that occurred because of that faith. The stories were based on true events as recorded from the journals of those crossing. This is really a great film, with great acting. It's not your typical documentary film about these events; it really drew you into the story and made you feel as if you had been there.

I Am David

B&H Rating:

What a great movie! This movie has a good story line, a good message and excellent acting. Just good and clean overall. It's probably not a movie for young children as it deals with what happened to a boy during WWII. But I highly recommend it. Very enjoyable to watch!

Tangled

B&H Rating:

This is such a cute movie!! We've watched it several times since it came out and I think the thing I like the most about it is how squeaky clean it is. Many of the animated movies have turned to crude humor for their entertainment, but I love how this one doesn't. It just has so much in it that is fun, loving, and teaches good values. Highly recommend it if you haven't seen it!! Even adults can thoroughly enjoy it!

Wives and Daughters

B&H Rating:

This was an excellent movie if you like "bonnet tales" (as an acquaintance of mine calls them). This one was a great bonnet tale - I especially liked it because of the ending, but I won't tell you and spoil it for you...

Seasons of the Heart

B&H Rating:

This is a really good movie! But I'm warning you, it's a tear jerker! In a good way though. It's about a family that has lost two daughters. They have to let go of their two girls and come to accept and love a little boy whom they are asked to adopt. This movie really helped me because it was a gentle reminder that we need to show love to our children and look past the goofy and even downright annoying things they sometimes do!

Fireproof

B&H Rating:

A wonderful movie - we found it in the redbox after it was recommended to us by my sister-in-law. This movie is not for children, due to it's emotional content. It is, however very clean and teaches good values like fidelity within marriage, honesty, self-lessness, overcoming addictions, etc. We highly recommend it!

I read a cool fact about the film that I'll pass on: In the only kissing scene at the end that is in the shadows, they used the real wife of Kirk Cameron (the main character) instead of the actress that was playing his wife in the movie. Kirk felt that people, even actors, should only kiss their wife, so they made some changes to make that happen.

The Love Comes Softly Series

B&H Rating:

We enjoyed watching the Love Comes Softly movie series. The acting in the movies is a little goofy in places, but if you can look past that, the movies are enjoyable and uplifting. The movies are based off of the books by Janette Oke which are also very good. They are well-written and clean.
